Hello Friend!
My name is Laraib Tariq (she/her), the heart behind LOVEHAPPY.
I am a Bahraini born land steward, designer and material researcher with a multifaceted love for spatial design, and the intersection of health and education based on Lenape lands. My background as a farmer and herbalist deeply inform my approach to design and craftmaking. Drawing inspiration from indigenous resourcefulness, communal care and land practices, my work emphasizes the importance of the built environment adapting to and reflecting the needs of residents and the surrounding natural environment. With a focus on earth-based materials, waste regeneration and material life cycles, I am constantly learning with my surrounding environment.
I dreamt up LOVEHAPPY in 2019, with the intention to create + share medicine inspired by our ever-changing climate, local landscapes and native plants. My practices reflect/amplify reciprocity and non-extractive relationships centering my community + our abundant beloved Earth.
Design, to me, is an act of care and a tool for world-building. I’m here to keep learning + sharing always. Let’s connect ☺
